My love of yoga began more than twenty years ago upon the meeting of my first guru and yoga teacher, Dr. Vjendra Prarap from India . Learning from him that yoga is a way of life, linking body , breath and mind, both on and off the mat.
I completed 300 hour teacher training at World Peace Yoga, incorporating 100 hours of vegan cooking and lifestyle. I love preparing healthy delicious meals and sharing with others. Health is our Wealth!!!
My motto: Live each day with love and kindness.
I have been a certified SPINNING instructor since 2015. I grew up involved in soccer and gymnastics, and as an adult started running half and full marathons, plus one triathlon. I enjoy the high energy classes in the studio just as much as running, cycling, and hiking in the great outdoors.
The best part about a spin class for me is leaving all my worries at the door and taking 45 minutes to myself to get lost in a cardio workout. I took spin classes for about two years before I decided to get certified, it has been such a great experience and I love leading the class to a great workout!
I have been teaching group fitness since 2008. I teach a variety of classes, a stability ball/core class, trx (suspension training), a bootcamp style class and spinning classes. I am Spin certified and have done other trainings/certifications with AFFA, BTS, and Silver Sneakers. I have found that fitness is the best medicine for the physical, emotional and spiritual well being.
I am a former aerobics instructor when back in the day leotards and leg warmers were the rage. I recently fell in love with SPINNING and became a certified instructor. One of the many benefits of this sport is that it provides the opportunity to attain a high level of cardiovascular fitness with a low level of impact on your joints. No matter your current fitness level, SPINNING meets you where you are! I love sharing the energy of a SPIN class and being an encourager to others in their fitness quest.
After having a benign tumor removed from my lower lumbar; my Neurologist suggested Yoga to strengthen my spine. Not only have I found healing and strength in my body, but also my mind. I’m in awe of the transformation it has brought to my life. The practice of Yoga has centered, grounded and balanced all aspects of my life and continues to renew me daily. My favorite practice is meditation and my intention is to weave that focus through the practice of postures (asana). When I’m not leading a Yoga class, I cherish my roles of wife and mother to 4 children. They are my greatest gifts to the world and I’m passionate about raising awareness of Down Syndrome. I completed a 200 RYT Hatha Yoga/Vinyasa training from Yoga Home in 2011. 200 hours RYT alignment based from Shine Yoga in March of 2014. I’ve attended numerous workshops and look forward to attending more trainings, expanding my awareness as the process of Yoga is continually unfolding itself.
